Well, I'm new here. My name is Michael but it says Mike. I live in Vancouver, WA. I've been photographing as a hobby for about 4 years now. I started with just Black and White film which I took a class in high school about. I love film, but alas, the light filter degraded too far and I can't use it now. I used a camera that was about one step above a point and shoot for a while, So I recently upgraded to a DSLR. The Canon T1i was my choice over the Nikon D3100. I love it
I like to get critiques and feedback on my photos, be truthful, if you don't like it want to know why, if you do, I want to know why. So, now with the intro out of the way.I took this on my way home from Maryhill, Washington. Near Moltnolma falls in Oregon. So I'm looking for feedback and tips on how I can improve. What do you think of the photo overall, what's good and what needs improvement? ![]() Shutter Speed:1/256 second Aperture:F/11.0 Focal Length:25 mm ISO Speed:400 Last edited by Mike.; 10-10-2010 at 02:39 AM. |

Why don't we start with you telling us (me) what you like/dislike about the picture?...
I'm betting you can critique the shot better than I can...

I like this photo [because], the lines go towards one vanishing point. I like the way the sun is lined up and the way the glare also follows the lines of the road, fence, and rails. It seems very balance and the colors are nice. Could use a little bit of blue in the sky, however I didn't want to add any post production.

I agree with ol' 2010 here, the flare is just a little too much. Always take a good few shots varying the exposure so you can pick the one that works best; here you've got a nice vanishing point and nice light in the grasses, just ruined a little by the massive flare.
