Default Point Loma - Lighthouse San Diego

I took this shot at middle of the day and the lighthing was harsh. During these conditions, how to maintain a proper exposure? does this image have a proper exposure?

Hi and welcome! Are you looking for a critique or do you just wish to share your shot with the forum? For critique, take a look at the critique forum rules for required information...specific question, EXIF data, etc. This will help us help you by giving us a direction you would like help with. If you just want to share your shots, the Landscape SYS (share your shots) section is specifically for that. Thanks!

I'm sorry, but I really don't get this one. If you wanted to make one or two pickets in the fence your focal point, you should have brought the whole picket into the frame and let them trail off into the blurred background.

If your intention was to use the fence as a leading line drawing attention toward the lighthouse, your DOF is way off.

Looks like you have an excellent location to use as a "study" object for various camera settings. Try a little more experimentation until you come up with something that portrays what your imagination is seeing.

Yes, you've got the right exposure for this subject matter in these lighting conditions. You've preserved all the bright tones and nothing is blown out too white.

As for composition, I like the depth you've established here and the relationships between the fence, the church and the tree. It's simple and uncluttered. Good job!

If you are going to focus on foreground objects, it has to be something special. The top of the fence just does not do it.

Nice exposure, but. . .

Since you have named it "Lighthouse" I was disappointed to see that it's really a shot of the fence???
