You probably didnt have to shoot at 1/800th to get the shot. If you dropped it down and closed your aperture a bit, you would have gotten a sharper image. Does not really show in a compressed file but im sure its noticeable in full res.
I like the people in the shot to give it a sense of how big it is. Without the people I would have guessed it was 4 feet tall. |

Perhaps I should tried to shoot it in smaller aperture and see what I get. Cheers. |

I love the composition! It has a very gritty, journalistic feel. There is enough secondary subject matter to lead the eye around the frame, but not so much that it distracts or gets too busy. Great sense of depth too!

I agree with Dan, there's just the right ammount of subjects here in my opinion. The lower 'building' doesn't distarct me at all and the tree's don't neither. The people on this shot really show how big the buddah actually is. I also like the colors, good job. I really like it.

A very good shot indeed, but I feel the photo would be stronger without the trees, I do find them to be distracting, Other than that it's a very good shot.

Thank you guys for the comments.
I'll take these encouragements up and keep shooting. Cheers.

It's a great shot. At this size it looks good, but I suspect it's rather unsharp at full resolution.
I would have shot at around f/8 and ISO 800 and used "hyperfocal distance" to increase the DOF..probably get around 1/400 shutterspeed. Or lower iso/shutterspeed if you don't mind the chance of motion blur. I don't mind the trees.
