I like the b&w treatment. It has a gritty, old time look. It's too bad the sky wasn't more dramatic. Some more action in the water would've helped too. Then you could've panned down a little more, gotten rid of some of the plain sky and moved the horizon from the dead centre. Are the buildings tilted a bit to the right?

I really like the perspective. I would have to see the color image to decide which I think works best but it does look nice in B&W. Was it through a glass window or were you able to open the window for the shot? Or maybe you went to the roof. The image looks very clean. I think you've done a great job with it.

To answer some questions
Sterling: After you mentioned it I did look at the pic again and you are right the buildings are tilting to the right. I thought I had corrected that but guess did not do enough. I agree also that a dramatic sky would have helped. But it was one of those evenings in NY clear sky and not much going on in the water also. dbevisjr: I was able to open the window and hacked the insect screen at the same time ![]() I will try and get the color image uploaded as well. |
