Default Fishing Village

Hii my friends. Recently i just visited a fishing village Tanjung Dawai in Malaysia and it's really a nice place to shoot photos especially at dusk. So here is one of the shots i have taken.
Tanjung Dawai, Malaysia
1/125 s
f/5.6
ISO1600
88mm
Flash off

I have got a few questions:

1. Here the biggest aperture was used and thus the shallow D.O.F in result. Would it be better to increase the D.O.F so that everything is in focus?

2. Is it good to on the flash so that i got more detail of the person?

3. Any suggestion on how to improve the overall look of this picture? (composition/ color /exposure etc)

I can`t see what the focus looks like properly, but it looks like a great image.
The colours are great.
NO FLASH! (IMO)

You get a ton of grain @ 1600 ISO .. and it's the first thing i noticed in this shot. Maybe you can leave the shutter open a lil longer and lower the ISO and close up that aperture a little. I think this shot would look good as a silouette... just clone out that thing near the subjects right shoulder. I love the composition of this shot!

scratch that... i dont think a silouette would work since theres those wood poles sticking out from the subject.

Hii Sabrina thx so much for ur input!! yea the original pic was like a photo printed on a rusty piece of metal..and i have no choice but to reduce the noise using photoshop but it's still obvious..so i put the watermark there to distract a little bit..not sure whether it helps. But you see that the shutter speed is just 1/125..i got a tripod with me but the person was not sitting still there and there were people moving around also. Not sure whether longer shutter speed will do but definitely i will give it a try.

Oh yea i really dint notice the thing on the right shoulder..thx for reminding!! so do you mean that the exposure on the subject is ok like this? not too bright with flash and not too dark as well to become a silouette right?
