Default 2nd attempt at moving water-Please critique

2nd attempt, 1st was deleted because I could not get the exposure right...
This was shot in Sauble Falls, Ontario, Canada.
I converted to B&W in LR3.0 along with slight contrast and curves and crop.
It was shot in partial shade on a sunny evening (7:30pm)

Not much to critique here, this is a nice shot. Balance & composition is good. Is there any reason you made it B & W rather than leave in colour?

thanks for the nice comment! i went with B&W just because the colour shot was a bit bland and the B&W was a wee bit more dramatic here is the colour copy

I love the water in the color version, but the trees actually take something away from the overall shot. About all you can do about that is to minimize them when composing the frame.

Great shot, for your second attempt!
I like the color version better, to tell the truth.
While there is a slight blow out in the main water in the center, it has some potential.

LeeR did a great tutorial on Levels.

In my opinion, if you apply his principals, and crop about 1/3 off the top, you have a winner.
(maybe crop a little off the right, to taste, the lighter green)

Work with this a little, and I think you have a great shot.

Just my 2c's

Alrighty, I took some off the top and sides and you were both right, it does work a lot better without as much green That is the un-explainable feeling I had when I decided to go with the B&W.... the awkwardness seems to be gone from the photo..

Thanks Micheal and Divot, much appreciated
