So I went back out to the same house today and did a couple more shots keeping in mind that I was shooting an abandoned house and wanted to communicate that feeling through the picture. So, I would appreciate your feedback on this one. Does it portray abandonment and loneliness? Is the frame too busy? My shots usually are of bright and happy things so this is new for me. =)

I love that this is B & W. I think that really helps set the mood. It would be interesting to see this house a bit closer. Have you tried cropping the tree on the right out? Looks like a very cool old house - one worth photographing a few times - Good job

I like your idea with this shot. For me I find that the house is too far over to the left and the tree on the right is a bit distracting. I kind of look at the house and move on, have to force my eye back to the house. If I had the opportunity to photograph that I would move a bit closer, bit to the right and get down lower to the ground.
Cheers

I do agree with other posts that too much is going on in the photo. Shooting the house from different angles will help with that.
Also, even though this photo was convered to B/W, I can still see that this was a sunny day. To really set the mood for 'abandonment,' I suggest you try shooting the house on an overcast day. :-) |

Really nice one with deep depth.
