Default First Outing In Almost a Year

It's been a long time since I've picked up my camera and gone out and actually taken some shots. Between school and 65 hr work weeks I haven't had much time. But I'm making an effort now to start "re-developing" my photo skills. Let me know what you think and what I should improve on!

This was taken yesterday at an old abandoned house near where I live.

Exposure: 1/200
f/10
30mm
ISO 100
Flash Fired

I feel that this image is too bright and cheery. Generally, when you photograph abandoned houses, you want a darker mood. I do like how you included the chair in the foreground.

However, I'm not digging the framing of this photo. I think including the entire barn in the photo would have been better; right now it feels really cramped.

Also, the textures on the barn are interesting, but hard to make out because the photo is so bright. Maybe this would make a good HDR candidate...

Anyways, good to see that you're taking photos again!

It looks a little overexposed to me. Go with bracketed shots so that you will have something to compare at your desk.

Thank you for your feedback! I played with the exposure a bit and I'm much happier with the photo. Here's a link to it on my flickr...let me know how you like this one! Abandonment does not mean you're forgotten. | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
