Default long exposure

Hi guys.
This is my first try of long exposure shot. I've taken this from an elevated carpark so please forgive my composition ( I can't position my tripod better because of the rails ). I need your opinion(s) regarding this shot so that I can do it better next time. I am more particular on how I can avoid the "halo" of lights.
Thanks in advance.

Nikon D90, 18-105mm kit
ISO125
Focal length:45mm
f18,
30seconds exposure
Manual mode, remote shutter released
Camera mounted in tripod

I like this; especially the people standing on the corner. You do seem to be having excessive problems with the "halos" around the lights and part of that is due to the fact that your exposure was a bit too long for this scene and I'm guessing your lens needy to be cleaned. A little smudge on your lens in daylight may not make much of a difference, but in a situation like this the effects can be multiplied many times over.

I actually like the halos in the lights. I think they give to the atmosphere. Also like where you placed the traffic light.

the composition seems interesting too... the stream of lights at the lower frame, and traffic lights on the right.. kind of make this scene happen..

- smudge on your lens, i get that too... and sometimes, condensation on the lense will cause this..
-Only thing id suggest is maybe the exposure is a bit too much..

Thank you guys for the inputs, especially the "like" in my composition
Do you mean guys that if I will shoot it again in a shorter exposure time the "halos" will be reduced if not eliminated? Actually what I like in this long exposure shot is the eye-catching trails of lights from the passing cars. Is it still possible to get the same light effects say 5 to 8 seconds exposure time?
Regarding the dirt of the lens, thanks guys for reminding me that it is already due for cleaning. I bought this camera four months ago and clicked at least a thousand times ( mostly trying to know how it works) unaware that it should be cleaned and maintained like my car, lol.
Thanks again.
