Default First picture taken in RAW

Wollaton Park

EXIF

Canon 450D
- f/9
- shutter 1/400
- ISO 200
- 140mm focal length

Took this shot in RAW, did some editing to it to adjust for, what was, a very sunny day.

I'm interested into hearing about the quality of the colours in the picture and what could be improved with the shot. I tried to make the picture look bright and vibrant to go along with the day it was, before I edited the picture the sky was very over exposed, I had to adjust things in my editor to make it look more blue than it turned out.

Any other feedback would be appreciated.

overall most of colors really pop. The greens are very vivid but overall the shot lacks a clear subject. I would try again an choose something specific to focus on. The color is there but the composition needs some help.

Not bad for your first Raw excursion. You will find with raw you are able to do far more than with just a jpeg

Thanks for the feedback, I did think it appeared to be very "tourist" composition wise. My main aim with this was tinkering with RAW editing options.

I think a closer up on the green house and less grass on the foreground might have made things better, might crop it like that and see what affect it has.

Thanks again.

I think cropping would be a good idea, removing that tree that is penetrating the side of the shot would benefit it greatly, and cropping in closer on the green house would make for a more solid comp.
