Default I don't usually do this type of thing...Glacier in Alaska

Hi everyone, I'd be curious to hear what you all think. This is not typically my thing. I like to shoot film, usually high -speed (3200) and sometimes pro-rated to above. I like grain, character and the film noir feel. I have also played around with a Nikon D90, several Polaroid's and an awesome 85 mm 1960's Helios on my K1000.

How's this? - made with my D90 in Alaska in August 2008.

Glacier

Also I have just finally put together some old and new photos into a Flickr account. I am making a portfolio and hitting the darkroom and hoping to show my work in at least two shows I heard of this fall.

Wondering what you all think. THANK YOU.

I'm torn. I almost want to see it closer up to see the people better. Maybe a portrait crop would also benefit this

Yeah, this unique shot really draws your eye in towards the people on the kayaks and makes you want to get closer. If you zoom in too much though, you lose the perspective of where they are. I think if you did a little cropping around the edges, you will keep the perspective while giving the viewer more of an intimate feel of being IN the cave instead of on the outside looking in.

Yes, definitely the second crop. Having the people out of the center helps a lot.

It probably also needs a bit of postprocessing; to highlight the beautiful colors

I wish I knew how to. For work I do some web stuff and have access to the full CS4 on my machine, but I would not know where to start with the colors..
