Default The Bell Tower of University of Michigan

I was trying for a different point of view of the Bell Tower. I kind of like this shot and I was wondering what you guys think.
From Michigan Exposures

I was trying for an abstract angle on the Bell Tower to try to capture the feel of a tower shooting off into space, but I think I realized that maybe my aperature is too large making my depth of field too small. I'm also thinking that the sky is a bit too white. So anyways, do you guys agree with me? Do you think this picture would be better if I had more focus across the whole shot and perhaps the sky were a little starker?

f/4
1/60 sec
ISO-400
28mm (28~135 mm lens)
Canon EOS 50D

The blurring does not work for me. It would have worked better if the whole image was crisp. Maybe higher aperture and reduced shutter speed (if you have a tripod).

Curiously was there something specific that you wanted a critique on?

I agree, the out-of-focus top doesn't do it for me. I can almost imagine that the top of the tower is getting covered by fog -- that wolud be a neat photo -- but if it's just out of focus, then it seems to lack interest. I'd go for a much smaller f/stop instead.

That's kind of what I thought. I wasn't terribly happy with the out of focus near the top....But I did like the abstract look.
