Here is a photo I took last night in Perth Amboy, NJ of a moon over some yachts docked near the Perth Amboy Yacht club. I took a close up photo of the moon then recomposed and took this photo. In Photoshop I extracted the moon photo and placed it in this photo. What do you think?

looks awesome...but i think there is a bit of reflection over to the bottom left side in the water....was that where the moon was originally?.....and maybe widening the reflection/spotlight on the yacht a little.....looks a bit artificial, unless you cropped out the rest of the photo to showcase only that part of the image......but all in all a great shot......

The moon is where it was that night and the light trial is the real moon light trial. When I exposed for the yachts the moon was blown out and you could not see any detail of the moon. So I took a separate photo that exposed the moon correctly and added it directly over the overexposed moon on this shot.
So everything else is where it should be as it was that night, light trial, moon and yachts. Aleix - I see your point about the halo but I really like the light trial. Thanks for your comments - Everyone at work was talking about how beautiful the moon was Monday night, nice red tone to it and looked much larger than usual, glad I had my camera with me and took this shot because that's how our human eyes saw this seen, with the camera if I exposed for the yachts it blew out the moon and if I exposed for the moon it blacked out everything else in the photo.
