Default Newbie - Be Gentle

This is a new addition to our botanical gardens in my area. The relaxing sound of the waterfall helps you to empty your mind of all the days stresses. I used Picasa to fade the edges.

Looks like a very pretty and relaxing place. I'm pretty new too. However, I'm not a fan of faded edges and probably would have left that alone. Good luck with your photography and thanks for sharing!

OH MY GOD, that is the WORST..... Just kidding cuz I am a kidder. lol

You are lucky to have such a nice setting to work with and hone your skills. I don't care for the faded edges either. People spend a fortune on good glass just to avoid slight softness around the edges of a frame and they rarely introduce such blur during post-processing.

What time of day was this shot? I would definitely go after this one very early morning or just before dusk. Might want to experiment with a variety of camera angles as well. Do a fast shutter to freeze the water in place and then do a long exposure to let the water give a sense of motion. See which one better appeals to you and go from there.

Hi Kaye

What a great area for photo's - I agree with Michael an early morning or sunset shot would be so worth the effort of time with this landscape. I think you would get some great reflections and color. I do like the shot and subject.

I agree with the previous comments on ca[turing this scene in better lighting. You have captured a great subject but wiped away some detail with the faded/blurry edges. Keep it up, and hope to see more posts from you in the future.
