Smile Raining in my front yard

Is it really clear to you it's raining, or does it just seem blurry? Does the watermark, comp. or little bright spots of rain distract too much?..There are things about it I love..just unsure if it works..I feel this photo, above all others I have done, represents me in a way..If that makes sense..lol..So I want it to be spectacular.
All comments/suggestions appreciated.

Forgive me for this, but for me anyway, it just isnt working.
It feels blurry, there are bright white spots thruout the image and the bright sky above is distracting

I am sure that this is not easy esp for a daytme shot.....I have not done this really and maybe someone will leave a helpful hint but maybe the use of a flash might help light up the raindrops where you can see them. I'll have to google it and see if any suggestions are out there....but I really could not tell there was any rain without you saying what you were doing

Nothing Photoshop wouldn't fix... I'd content aware or clone the white streaks out and vignette the corners and sky... For a tip I tend to turn my images upside down to see where my eye leads too.. if it's not what I want the viewer to focus on then I try to darken that area...

Nope, definitely not an easy shot in the daytime..or period, for someone as new to everything as me.. I tend to go with simply, " shooting what I like" until I am able to get some classes under my belt..so I will be better prepared in knowing the outcome..until then..here I am ...and thank you for commenting.

Robbrown, Thanks!..I will have to try and figure out how to do that!...baby steps..

A faster shutter speed would have helped here - it would have stopped the rain from appearing as streaks, prevented overexposure, and reduced the effects of camera shake. Likewise a smaller aperture would have meant better focus throughout the shot.

It definitely isn't easy to capture rain - I tried the other day during a heavy storm and it took a shutter speed of 1/2500 to 'freeze' the drops, which needed a high ISO, which meant the camera's high ISO noise reduction system actually mistook some of the drops for noise and tried to remove them!

Glad to know I am not the only one who thinks capturing a nice rain shot is easier said than done..haha
Yes, I agree..A faster shutter speed would have helped I bet..I will definitely better prepare for the next rain shot I take..I am bound and determined to figure this out!..lol..As for this photo, I plan to give it a few more tries to see if I can't save it in editing..I love what I did with the colors..but I will have to see if I can't make the rain seem more like rain..haha..If anyone wants to take a whack at it..you are welcome do so..and would love to hear how you did it..Thanks for the comments!!

Okay..Here is the new one..Any better?..I cloned out the bright streaks..tried to sharpen the rain..used a vignette..changed the levels a bit..and tweaked the sat. I think it has improved, do you?
Thanks for all the helpful tips & comments, everyone!

It's improved but I think you might have to put this one down as a learner and go in better prepared next time the 'heavens open'. The whole thing is a bit of a riot and quite hard to look at. Sorry to be a downer!
