Default Crisp Point Lighthouse

I really like how this one turned out but I wanted a little critique.

Thanks.

I like the composition and the misty look, but it needs something. Maybe contrast? Not sure.....

I like this, the misty look suits the image but it seems a bit too flat?

The exposure and white balance is good. It clearly shows the time of day and the atmosphere at the time.

I think the main thing I would change is composition. The lighthouse is a very imposing structure, yet the stairs at the lower left of the frame detract from the main subject. Think of the concept of leading lines, and try to go, perhaps, closer to the stairs and use the lines of the hand rails or the diagonal lines of the stairs to lead up into the frame and contrast to the vertical lighthouse. Another option might be to go from the opposite side to show where the stairs lead and get a completely different impression from the scene.

I agree with your remarks, the foreground is good but too much of the picture is gray.

IME, when you can't really get your subject crisp (i.e. fog) The image usually works better if it's more about the "atmosphere/feel".
I think it might have worked better taken wider with more of the fog and it's affect on the scenery/feeling and less about the lighthouse itself.

To me, the way it is now it's not really a "lighthouse in the fog" image, it's more an "obscured lighthouse" pic.

Thank you for your opinions. That was my thought on the stairs but I kind of liked the angle of the lighthouse. I do have a wider shot somewhere and I like that a little better but not much.
