Default Brooklyn Bridge

Brooklyn Bridge 1

Just looking for some thoughts on what I can do to improve this shot. I was thinking about removing the shadows on the walkway and possibly the white line running down the middle since it is tilted to the left a little (the bridge is level so I dont want to rotate the image) Anyother thoughts would be appreciated.

It looks slightly tilted, were you standing directly on the center of the bridge? the lines on the bottom part aren't symmetric...
anyways, yeah I think the shadows are a bit distracting but the overall composition is fine

I was standing on the white line. I am not sure if that is the middle or not though. If you look at the top of the bridge it looks straight. I did rotate the image slightly to get the top of the bridge level. I'll play around with removing the shadows and see how that looks

since when have you been traveling to the mainland, rex?.....

beautiful image.....the color saturation is gorgeous....the horizontals....well, horizontal....

i think the shadowing isn't a distraction.....but, yes, you're right the white line has a hand in making the eye question the horizon.....but, for the life of me i cannont make a suggestion that would work for it's correction......

thanks for sharing

Yeah I could not think of a way to remove that white line as well. if I rotate the image so that the line is straight vertical it will throw off the horizen and the top of the bridge. of course I didnt notice any of this as I was taking the picture LOL. It was freezing cold on the bridge and I was trying to get the photo quickly so I could put my gloves back on. Not used to the cold weather anymore.

@peeper I travel back to the states a couple times a year to visit friends and family. Of course this time going to NYC I had to stop in at B&H's store which got me into trouble. about $2500 later I end up with a new camera, new lens, graphics tablet, and some other knick knacks. Dont think I will head back to NYC for a while. I was eyeing the lens baby and thinking about some more flashguns..... bad bad bad... dont get things you dont need... But it is so sweet playing with all that stuff in the store.

Its like a writing pad for your computer. basically allows you to use a pressure sensitive pen instead of a mouse. Greatly speeds up my workflow.

I do not find the shadows distracting ,I find they give depth and more intrest ,the slight tilt ,well I hope you don't mind i tried a crop that i think works it is a 13X18 crop . the colors & clearty of your image are beautiful , I would not touch them .Here is the crop ,it you want I will remove it, I just find it easier to show what I mean rather than trying to explain it . I think that with this crop the shadow that is causing the appearance of a lean is less noticable .

I dont mind the edit at all snapdragon. I like the crop it really looks a lot straighter with out the lens distortion at the bottom and as an added bonus it follows the rule of thirds much better. Guess I went a little crazy with my new sigma 10-20. wanted to get some of those ultra wide angle shots.
