Default night shots - Syd Harbour Bridge

Hi,

New to the forum and new to DSLR photography. I took my new canon out to learn a bit about taking photos and this is what I got. Would be interested to hear thoughts on how to make this photo better.

Since I am new, I still have to learn to use photo editing software to compose better photos.

Cheers for your input.

edit... sorry didnt realise the rules

I like the concept. In my opinion, the first capture shows the most promise, but it has me tilting my head to the right as I view it. This may quickly turn into another horizon discussion. lol

Thanks Michael. Now that you mention it i started tilting my head as well. I will go back to the same spot next time the weather permits and have another go at it. I never realised how much satisfaction i can get for taking nice photos so trying to learn as much as i can so i can take progressively better ones

Yeah, once you get the bug.....

I love everything about it. Scouting out potential locations, watching how light can transform that location, breathing in the scenery and then kicking back and reviewing the hundreds of shots one outing can generate. If one or two keepers come out of that effort, I'm very satisfied.

It's clear you already have an eye for it, so polishing technique should be an easy next step for you. I'm still stumbling around with camera settings with my DSLR and reading everyone's comments on this site is a great help.
