I,too, am a beginner, so I'm not sure how much stock you want to put in my critique, but it seems that the sky is quite hazy. Also, not a critique, but the mods get angry when you don't follow the posting rules.

I hope you don't mind, but I took the liberty of doing a quick edit to address the lack of contrast you had in this shot. Nothing more than adjusting the levels and cropping a little on the bottom and right to get rid of some things that didn't seem to be adding to the shot. If it bothers you, just let me know, and I'll remove it.

Overall, I would say it's a nice shot...makes me miss home.

Hi aserafyn,

Great image! You've got a nice capture here. Wonderful timing with the plane just passing through the sky.

Images like this are really hard to make because the sky is quite bright and the buildings are a little dark. There are many ways to address this issue and which one you chose is up to your own artistic sensibilities. For example, you could shoot and HDR or you could layer and mask multiple exposure values to create a more balanced image.

Without the EXIF data, it is hard to say what is going on exactly, but if I were to make this image (with my camera) I would have shot in RAW, underexposed the image and in post processing bring some of the detail back into the buildings. But that is just me.

Anyway, this is a nice image. It is well composed and you did a good job of capturing the image at just the right time.

Good job.

KG
