Default Monochrome dynamics

Speed and Static on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

A train speeds past the bench and post on the platform. Shot at about 11pm-ish. Does this kind of a dynamic image work with monochrome? I have a colour version as well, but with general tube lighting, I wasn't too thrilled with it.

I'm seeking some objective feedback on the composition and whether the overall picture works in black and white.

Thanks.

I think the B&W works, and I think it is a good image. I would like to see the front of the train though.

I think the dynamic range is good, there are pure blacks, and pure whites, with a good range in-between. It is really hard to tell that I am looking at a train though; depending on the speed of the train, bringing your exposure down to like a half a second might give you the major details of the train cars, but still keep the motion blur. I do like the setting and composition. TFS

Please be sure to post your photo here on DPS. It makes it so much simpler for us lazy folks to see your image here, instead of having to flip back and forth from one page to another.
If you have 2 shots to compare, you may want to consider the comparison section. thanks!

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I especially think the tip about reducing exposure time is worth a shot to make the subject more 'apparent'. Will definitely give it a try.

@ windrider: do you mean embed the image in the post. sure. here you go.
