I am just starting out in the field of photography and am looking for some critique. What does everyone think? This was actually taken with a sony H20. I have also used a Sony a300 but never a pro quality camera. Does it look like I have any talent to make some supplemental money or maybe even a living off of it.
I have my own site at Trenton Mc Anally Photography if anyone is interested in critiquing any other photos of mine. I welcome ANY and ALL ideas. EXIF DATA: Dimension: 2736 x 3648 Type: JPEG Camera Make: Sony Camera Model: DSC-H20 Focal length: 6.3 mm Max lens aperture: f/3.5 Exposure: 1/40 at f/3.5 Flash: Fired, auto mode, return light not detected ISO Speed: ISO 500 Last edited by trentonmcanally; 06-25-2010 at 06:44 AM. Nice exposure, nice composition. Get your self a tripod and lower that ISO, Unless you have a high end pro camera, shooting high ISO lowers image quality and introduces noise. Even if you have a high end pro camera you should still shoot the lowest ISO that you can.
Any one can have a good eye. Shooting as a pro can be done. But you have to take pictures that will sell commercially. Most beginning pros think that they can shoot creative and artistic images. These images do not sell. You have to develop an understanding of what sells and what people want to pay for. Even when Ansel Adams was alive, in his younger working years, He still had to shoot boring commercial images to put food on the table. If you can get you mind around this then you can make money selling images. If you are a purest artist type then you will join the ranks of thousands of photographers who are out there with a limited niche of a market. Not trying to scare you, just letting you know the real world. Keep shooting Thanks Joe
