The sky looks real good. But as a composition it really does not work much because there is no fixed point to attract the viewers eyes.He keeps searching all over for something really interesting.
Rules are made to be bent so no problem in tht,but if u observe closely almost at the middle in the bottom there is some yellow color which makes you wonder what it is. The coconut trees could be made as silhouette and let the sky be your background that would've worked for me. |

I know one thing about this picture for sure... the colors are wonderful! Great job on that one!
For balancing issues, I find there isn't a central focus point here. I like the amount of sky used, but it needs somewhere for you eye to catch when you first look at it. But, I do like the trees in the lower right side of the picture a lot. It's a little pop of green, haha. Overall, I think this picture is great! It just needs a few little adjustments.

thanks for the comments. i realize not having a distinct point of interest in the frame is definitely a shortcoming. will watch out the next time.

I'm finding the balance a little difficult as well. The colors are great and I love the sky. I find myself doing the same thing you did when I have angry or interesting sky available. Unfortunately, I've also found that most of the time the sky doesn't mean much unless there is something else below it to give it a sense of balance, I guess because we don't live in the sky
![]() If your original photo has more of the landscape below it, you might try a crop that reveals more of the landscape underneath so we're not focusing on the yellow portion at the very bottom of the frame. I think you would be surprised at how dramatic the photo will still look by including the bottom and sacrificing some of the clouds at the top of the frame. |
