Default Big Tree

Hi,
I photographed this tree in a park. I liked it's dominating presence over the park.Actually i dont how to convey that in a photograph. Still I tried a snap and presenting it here. Tell me about it's composition and also whether the snap conveys the tree's overarching presence in the park...

Is 6.2mm focal length a typo? Because if it isn't you are using a VERY wide angle lens for this. In that case you could always use the distortion properties of the lens to your advantage by getting much closer to the tree, bringing the camera close to the ground, and looking up. this would use the lenses ability of making lines converge to make the tree look more dominating. Just my thoughts.

I don't know much about the technical side of photography... but composition wise, did you try a landscape orientation at all? It may be easier to get a sense of dominance if we saw the tree in comparison with the other features of the park I think Ben's idea of low angle would also help to convey that feeling.
Hope that helps

It is a nice picture as it is. I agree that getting closer and looking up at the tree might give you the presence you are looking for. Branches against the sky can be very interesting too.
