![]() Nikon D5000, 55 mm, 1/60", f/10, ISO-200 This is one of my pictures I really like, but it is one of the least viewed on my Flickr page. Am I blinded by pride? I would love to know what you guys think about it, and what I could have done better. Cheers

I like it as it is!
however maybe you could have gotten a little more detail in the black areas if you'd used a different meetering mode (i'm guessing here I don't know what kind of meetering you used). Anyway all in all it's a verry good shot i like the compostion and the concept a lot. ( I really appreciate the fact that it isn't another sunset shot, you have a subject in it which is great because somrthing to looke at besides the sun) thank you for sharing and you ain't blinded by pride

While sunsets with black foregrounds sometimes work wonderfully, I think in this case I would agree that it would be nice to see some more detail in the black areas. The reason is because it's a bit difficult to understand what's going on in the picture (what's the story). It's hard to tell exactly what the girl is doing (fishing net? carrying a box? carrying a child?...etc.) With a little more detail it might become more obvious what the "story" is.
Also, this one feels like it might draw you in better if it was in landscape orientation (horizontal lines). The vertical orientation is "squishing" the image and making it confusing to the brain...in so many words. ![]() Hope that helps!
