Default Right in the middle of a big City

I am new to DPS, and am totally enjoying the site. Figured I would put out a picture I took yesterday. I am just learning to shoot in the creative modes, and again must say I LOVE THIS SITE!!
I am open for criticism,, my husband thinks it is not 'balanced' enough, but what does HE KNOW???

Shot with a
Canon XTI
Manual mode
aperture F 16/0
shutter 1/250
ISO 100
50 mm lens

I think he knows more than you think. Personally, i'd like to see the whole building............perhaps a pano with a longer lens to show some more detail.

The problem i see with this photo is you chose a portion of the building. Typically when that is done, you look for something interesting or unusual about that portion.(like an interesting reflection in the windows) This photo looks like the reason you chose a portion of the building is because you had a 50mm on the camera and thats all that would fit in the frame.

As far as the rest of the photo, i think you have done Very well. The exposure , depth of field , sharpness, and colors look very good.

Hope this helps and welcome to DPS

Thanks PrimeTime,,, and I do see your point--more of building, and some sort of reflection. I maybe should listen to 'him' a little more, but will NOT tell him this!! ha,,,"He" just needs to stick to accounting/finance so I can do my next life project,,,photography!!! :-)
Love this site and thanks for the welcome!!
Sass!!
