Default Camels on Cable Beach at Sunset

I took this photo at sunset on Cable Beach in Broome, WA. My concern is that the sunlight is too bright and detracts from the overall effect. What do you think? If that's the case, is there anything I can do to improve it in post processing?

And is the composition OK? I have cropped it from the original photo because I thought there was too much space to the left of the camels.

Camels on Cable Beach at Sunset 2

Camera: Canon EOS 400D Digital
Exposure: 0.017 sec (1/60)
Aperture: f/18.0
Focal Length: 54 mm
ISO Speed: 400
Exposure Bias: 0 EV
Flash: Off, Did not fire

There are a couple of other similar photos on my Flickr page which I would love some feedback on if anyone has a spare minute or two!

Thanks for your help

i think the shot is composed; however, the suns reflection off the beach, to me, is a bit distracting as i find myself gravitating towards it.
