Hi Everyone
This is my first post in DPS and I'm really inspired by some of the works in this forum! I took this photo last weekend after spending some 4 hours watching the sun go down and the skies change color. It was very warm and I was sweating buckets. I hope some of you would be able to let me know what you think of this photo in terms of exposure, composition and any other comments would be greatly appreciated! When I first looked at it I loved the photo but somehow the more I looked at it, I find that it's is a bit overexposed? Some of my friends also said that there's too much sky/water but I thought they were alright. But any thoughts is most welcomed! ![]() ![]() Taken at 820pm 20mm 30 secs f14 ISO100 |

I actually think the exposure is good. For me, the subject(s) are so distant its difficult to make out any detail, which is what really holds the viewer's interest. If possible, move your vantage point closer. Otherwise, zoom in on a particular area and capture some detail. I've never seen that three-towered building on the left before, but that has to be some of the coolest architecture I've ever seen. It would make a fantastic picture if you capture the detail.

Hi Perry and tan2sie6, thanks for your comments
Perry - I agree, that the detail is kinda lost from this picture. I guess when I first shot it, I wanted to show how this building stood out from the pitch black background. I was using a 10-22mm lens so that's about the furthest I could zoom in Perhaps I could try another lens next time. The building on the left is called the Marina Bay Sands - it's the 2nd casino to be opened here in Singapore and opened by the Sands Group. If anyone's ever in Singapore, I'd be happy to arrange a lil photo outing
