![]() Camera: NIKON CORPORATION | NIKON D200 Lens: AF-S DX Nikkor 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Focal Length: 31 mm Exposure: 1/3000 sec - F/4.5 Processed: Adobe Lightroom 2.7, only processing was conversion to b&w using a film preset. No vignette's or other trickery. I've been experimenting with simplistic seascapes looking at the balance of tonal weight's rather than details or measured 1/3rd's proportions etc. Does this work for you? Thanks to those who take the time to provide a critique. Taken just as the sun hit the horizon of the Tasman Sea, on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Isalnd.

I agree with Lauren, there is a bit too much sky. Try only including that much sky when the foreground is less interesting then the sky. If the sky had some nice clouds I could see including it. Also the overall image is a bit dark. Maybe lighten it up a bit with the fill light feature in lightroom. Otherwise the use of the rule of thirds is used well. Keep it up!
