Default cropping advice

I'm not sure where to crop this photo at or if it even needs cropped

I'll stick to commenting on crop as that's what you asked about.

I definitely think it needs cropping, the top, topright, and right side of the image has a lot of dead uninteresting space. This isn't a subject that needs space to 'move into' so I'd definitely crop down.

In fact, with this sort of image, I'd crop down to the point to where the flowers fill the whole frame. In the end, it's the flowers that drew your attention, so focus in on those and cut out anything that does enhance it. In fact, I believe, as it stands right now, it's simply another of millions of shots of flowers, taken from the typical "I'm standing here with camera up to my face" position. But if you crop tightly and fill the frame with nothing but the flowers, it immediately becomes something different.

Slightly off what you were asking for, may I suggest not taking the photos from a standard standing with camera to face position, it really doesn't help the image feel different. Get down or up, change things up, you'll see a difference immediately!

Thank you very much for your advice. I know flowers are photographed a lot, but they are readily available around here (and don't talk back or run off ) I'll have to try playing around more with these.

I just went out to look at the flowers again and found a small beetle on one of them. Should make for a more interesting photo, I hope.
