Well Im new to this hobby, although I would like to make it more than that. I read on this site that I should go out and shoot everything. I spent four hours walking around the bay. The skies were sort of overcast in the direction i was shooting si the photo came out a little darker than I wanted, but I think it turned out great I love it. I think I have thousands fo shots from the past 4 months and only a few I realy like. This photography thing its frustrating cause i wnat my photos to be as good as the ones I see from other people (although I realize its a process).
What do you guys think?

Hi Carlos you need to link to the image not the page that contains the image. Press the All Sizes button above your image and select the medium size from the tabs above the image. Once the image loads edit your post and copy and paste the HTML code from the Medium sized Flickr image into the post.

I'll give my honest opinion because that's what I want.
First - the sky is very unremarkable - maybe its blown out. Is it mid-day? Try shooting in morning or evening. Second, I would have preferred to see more of the interesting part of the photo - the boats. Maybe a tight crop of the two of them? Try putting the horizon above or below the middle of the frame. Don't worry about thinking everyone's work is better than yours - I think many shooters feel the same way (I do). Keep shooting! Get the light right - good light can make anything beautiful! Hope this helps. |
