Default Amsterdam Pic

Hello,

I would like to improve my skills and here I am. Here in the Critique area

I like this picture, and I don't know if it is just because I am a beginner or if it is really a good shot.

Just let me know what you like of it and what not.

PS. I would also like information about some books I can read regarding photography. I never read anything, always used my inspiration. But I would like to read and learn something that could be useful for my photography.

Thanks

Alberto

I am just a beginner to digital photography so please accept my comments as that from a layperson . . .

The colors are beautiful and the perspective makes it very interesting. For me personally, three elements compete for attention which seems to be more distracting than intriguing: the fence in the foreground, the cluster of buildings and boats in the middle and the sky. Each of these elements is very interesting but at the same time they take away from each other in the composition of this image.

Overall, I love the colors and perspective!
