several questions
1. do not you think the right side is too heavy?
2. should I use more wide angle to make a whole tree in the shot?
3. may be the colours is not saturate enough?
4. is not a colours in the left side of the photo is too dirty?
5. what are you generally think about the photo?

may be you will see another ways to improve the photo.

  1. No. I'm thinking it's a balance composition. Right side, you have the tree. Left side, you have the color mix.
  2. More wide angle is better.
  3. I'm thinking that this picture is oversaturated. All color tends to be unnatural. Some spot showed not-so-smooth gradation which indicates that picture is produced from the post processing. Try to desaturate.
  4. same as number 3
  5. generally, your picture is over saturated. Good composition, great color, but bad color management.

Hi, I'm learning along with the people asking for critiques. I have a question that really confuses me-- saturation... what is saturation and what does it do. Thanks!

@Cathrine, to my understanding saturation is the concentration of the colours in the picture. Try to adjust your saturation to nil and you will transform your picture into B & W.

@Nik dont be sorry with your English, we understood really well the things you want to convey to us...Saturation in your picture, I think I would agree with others to tone down a bit, otherwise your picture has a potential.

#Press your trigger a lot and be happy...

Over saturated to begin with, to make your lens wider use your legs! 1 step back makes it a lot mm wider. I think the white balance could be changed to get rid of the over saturated blues. Try to find a sweet spot between processed and neutral

neoHUNTER, thanks

PotatoEYE, you are right about "one step back", but it is not always possible.
that shot was made from balkony. no one step back was possible
