Very nice scene, wanting me to go back home...I like the colour and the silhouette of the foliage. If it was my shot I would crop it, eliminating the sand, I might follow the rule of third...
Something like this This is just my opinion). can2.jpg Also, please post your EXIF next time, Your EXIF data from flickr: Camera: Sony DSC-W7 Exposure: 0.02 sec (1/50) Aperture: f/3.2 Focal Length: 10.7 mm ISO Speed: 200 Exposure Bias: 0/10 EV Flash: Flash fired, red-eye reduction *Try to increase your aperture to improve your DOF also.

I would rotate it so that the horizon is straight.

A nice shot! Well done.
However I agree with both of the comments so far. It needs to be straightened and I'd definitely crop out the heavy dark triangle of beach at the bottom. I like neoHUNTER's crop but even there the foliage feels a bit too heavy for my personal taste. I would have turned your flash off and would also have tried to get a bit more light in the shot perhaps by getting in-frame more of the lighter sky out-of-picture to the left; indeed shooting into the setting sun might well have made an interesting photo. Alternatively you could zoom in to (probably just one of) the boats and make that the subject of the picture -- possibly you could even crop it that way just from what you've got -- and the picture could then tell a story of an evening of rest after a day of work or something. Sorry to fire so many suggestions at you -- but the scene has lots of potential! |
