Default Which do you like better?

Which of these do you prefer and why?

Or, to be fair, do you like niether... and why?

The 2nd is not a crop of the 1st - it is a completely different shot.

Of the two, the second (right). The center of the flower stands out more. The background is softer and less distracting. The first (left) lacks any real solid definition of what the subject is supposed to be, IMHO.

Yep the second one on the right is better, better point of view and doesn't get lost with the leaves.

Agree with all of the above, the right one is compositionally better and the DOF lends more strength to the image overall.

I like the one to the right better. It is robust, has a clearly defined subject, and the colors seem just a tad crisper than in the image on the left.
