Default Autumn Colours

Summer has come to an end in this part of the world and I recently rediscovered this stream not far from home. Took a lot of different shots of this scene, would appreciate feedback on this one.

I think it has potential but it's not quite there; here's my thoughts:

composure- doesn't seem to be any compelling subject
Sky- a bit dull and blown out
reflection- not bad, would be beautiful if sharper (obviously some days you just aren't going to get perfect relfections due to wind)
Colours- they don't really "pop"

You can probably tinker with some of it in post processing, but don't be discouraged, keep going and I'm sure you'll get some great ones

I would love to see more of the reflection - the tree in the upper right hand is distracting my eye away from your composition. And yes, I'd like to see a little more pop in the colors or try converting this to black and white and play around with it that way.

Thanks for your input. I have since had a fiddle with the colours and brightened them up a bit. Post production not one of my strong suits
I see what you mean by reflection - flowing stream so never going to be perfectly still.
I may go back another day when the sky is a bit more interesting and see what I can get.
Cheers!

Colors? Not to be harsh, but the colors seems a bit muted which may explain why there does not seem to be any central theme or subject in the photograph. Maybe an adjustment of the gamma of this pic might enhance it, but compositionally it will still fail to grab the attention of the viewer (sorry). One thing I do know, you saw something in that scene you thought worthy of photographing, decide what it is and go back and get it. I would really enjoy seeing that.
