Default Coron Palawan 1

shot somewhere in Palawan Coron Busuanga, April 20 or 21, 2010
minolta maxxum 400si / 35-70mm
35mm kodak ISO 400
f11 (cant really remember, but i shoot landscapes mostly in 11)

did i made the right exposure?
maybe better off with a gradND?
would it be better if i focused on the nearest rocks rather than the one farther away?

(my AF is busted so every shot is focused manually, so im not sure if i nailed it, but i do love focusing manually )

thanks for viewing

What was your shutter speed? I did not see that info in your post.

For me, this is quite too grainy for my tastes. Personally, I avoid ever increasing ISO if I'm out in the sun because I don't like the grain. I would keep ISO at 100 and use a wide aperture to capture enough light. The exposure should generally be fast if you are out in the sun, too.

That's what I've done in my shots outside on a sunny day, and I'm always happy with the results!

i cant remember my shutter speed, my camera doesn't store EXIF data. (god, i want a nikon F6, or a digital slr).

would a lower fstop around f8 enough to blur the other parts? or an f8 is fine or maybe even better?

i really wanted to show everything in the photo as sharp as possible.

and about the ISO, i remember shooting this with my 100iso slide. ill try to post it ASAP. Sadly, im still looking for a place to get it developed.

added info about the shot: i remember i was around 60mm, there were some unnecessary stuff around the scene i had to take out and i didnt want the foreground eating the background in wider focal lengths.

thanks for the reply man
