Hi there Cheryl,
Seems a shame that no one has commented on your image so I thought I would drop what I was doing and sent this to you. Now your image, if I am honest I like it. looks like your at the bottom of a shadowy valley so the light is going to be difficult anyway. The colours are good and not overly bright, the light is good and the composition is real nice too. You achieved a nice soft motion on the water which is what you were after so all in all a very good first attempt. Have a look at mine some time and you will see that your image is just as good as mine. Well done, I think it's a really nice image and the only way your going to achieve better results is to keep getting out there and playing with the settings. Only other thing I would say is the hight the Aperture setting the more noise you will end up with so have a play with your settings on the day. Well done, looking forward to seeing more. David

Well I am a complete novice I'm afraid, bought my first DSLR 3 weeks ago and this is my first post here....but I think your pic looks really lovely, I really feel as if I am there among the wet rocks and spray of the water!

I wonder if a lack of comments is because there is little to critique?
![]() I like it - it really makes me wish I were there looking at that waterfall in person - smelling the woods and hearing it rush by. Good work!

Hi Cheryl
Nice photo, and nice composition One possible suggestion is to try using a circular polarizer (CPL) - you can turn this to reduce the reflections from the wet rock in the foreground, - it has the bonus of acting as a neutral density filter, allowing longer shutter speeds |

I took the image back into PS and tried a couple blue filters, as well as a cooling filter...what a difference. Really toned down that green-yellow at the top. Took the harshness off it.
Thanks everyone for the comments and tips.
