Default Cherub No. 2

Here's another cherub shot (I have about five or six). I kindly saturated and put a little bit of a warm hue on it in Elements. Not sure if that was okay or not. Also, wasn't sure about that crop, but I really like the way it turned out. When I shot it I I didn't realize it, but I got the head (desired focal point) in focus, but didn't much of the rest isn't in focus. I'm glad the shot is at the angle it is or I think it would have looked a lot worse.

Critique request: Composition, focus and coloring.

God bless,

Rowdy

Hi Stoneface,

I like photographing statues too and I think that this is a unique angle for the subject. Good job!

I like the color; I think that adding warmth was the right idea. The shallow depth of field doesn't bother me because the face (the most important part) is in focus.

About the composition, I would like to see a little less space above the head at the top of the image so that the corner of the base isn't cut off at the bottom, but I don't think that is critical.

One other thing that you might try... the face is in focus, which is great, but so is the top of the wing. I think that adding some blur there would focus the attention on the face even more and make this image even better.

Good job.
