Default Frozen Aerial View of Pond

01 30 08_HamiltonPartners_0021 Edited

EXIF: 1/160 f3.5 @ 18mm ISO100

Just took this one today. I liked the blue sky and the frozen patter on the pond. The campus doesn't usually look all that great in the winter, but I thought the light was a little more flattering today.

Not a bad shot. I like the pond. I think it would have been a good HDR if done to a minimum. I think the shadows ar a bit dark on the building especially in the front.
I think I would get rid of the towers......

I performed some edits: Removed the towers. Did some levels/curves/and dodging and burning. What do you think? Better? I also did a Black and White conversion, but I'd like input on the color version first.

Note to Mods: The rules say only one photo per thread, however, I'm assuming that's for multiple different photos not edits to the same one in response to critique right?

edits are just fine.....and go a long way into translating critique.....

i too think this is a nice image.....the crisps of the whites with the blues and browns work very well with each other....removing the towers is a definite improvement over the original post.....

the shadows trouble me a bit too.....before i offer a suggestion i'd like to know what editing program you use....

Yep, what peeper said Edits are perfectly fine (in fact, they are encouraged rather than starting a new thread for each edit), we just don't want people asking for critiques of 4 different images in a single thread.
