I've been trying to get a good shot of this lighthouse for some time now. Unfortunately their is an ugly concrete wall below it that looks terrible from any closer.
Would more foreground rocks improve this image composition? Should I try to improve processing on the clouds? ISO 100 f/16 32mm 1.0 sec

I'm by no means a composition expert but I think the white foam (which looks good) leads you into the photo well, the foreground rocks are good too and Iike the exposure and warmth of light.
I would have a tinker with the clouds to see what post processing will do for them but I think it's already a very good shot you can be happy with so careful not to spoil it! well done.

Really nice composition for this photo. I wouldn't change too much. I think I'd crop out about half of the sky. I'm not a fan of really slow motion water shots. I think your water looks too stringy and no longer resembles water. But you'll find me in a great minority on that one.
What is that colorful area to the left of the lighthouse? A train? Buildings? That area is really stealing the show in this photo. Only due to your title that I went looking for a lighthouse.

Thanks for the thoughs and ideas.
The colored area is a row of little houses. Yes I see that the title is inappropriate now. I'm terrible for not trying different shutter speedS to chamg the apperance of the water. Must etch that into the tripod. |
