Lightbulb Flooded field and a boat - composition question

Hello everyone,

Here's a photo I recently took, I wanted the water and flooded grass to be the main subject, with the boat and oar contemplating it. I am wondering if I should have used smaller aperture to bring the boat a bit more in focus. Would it be better that way? I am somewhat unsatisfied with how the boat turned out, but not exactly sure why. And also could the placement of boat in the frame be done better?

Exif info:
Camera: D60
Focal lenght: 105 mm
Aperture: f8
Shutter speed: 1/5
ISO: 400

Thanks

I like the concept but I think it might work better if the boat itself were left more in focus. I'd probably also get rid of the grass on the top part. Takes away from the beautiful color in the water

I agree with the post above. maybe a higher fstop to bring the boat in focus a little more. and it would look like the water goes on forever if you can avoid the grass. cuz the water is just beautiful

Thanks guys!

I also think I should have left the boat more in focus, but it's late to do that.
Maybe I could crop it differently. Thanks!
