Default Telephone Poles

I'm having a bit of a dillema between two photos. I'm trying to decide which one has the stronger composition, but I can't. What do you think?

Image #1
Telephone Poles #1
Exif:
19mm.
1/160 sec.
F/13
ISO-100

ISO-100

I'm leaning towards the first one because the telephone wires seem to lead from corner to corner better than the other image, but I need a second opinion.

Before working out which image has better composition, it's probably important to know exactly what the image is of.

If it's a photograph of the poles, then I think the 2nd shot works better as they are not competing with the tree line for dominance.

If it's a shot of the fluffy clouds, then probably the first?

In either case, I think I'd tend to try to get the foreground, trees and poles silhouetted against the sky. As it stands, the rocks, etc. in the foreground detract from the shot.

Would you consider a skewed version of image #1?

Thanks for the replies.

CaptainNH: I see what you mean with the competing dominace. The subject was meant to be the telephone poles. The clouds were simply used as a nice background.

LoveDSLR: Skewed could work, but I'd like to keep the image's dimensions as large as possible. I'd rather reshoot the photo if I can.

I'll probably head back out to this spot sometime soon and reshoot with more of a focus on the telephone poles themselves.

It is not about the skew but an illustration of composition and framing to balance various elements of your capture.

Oh my bad. 'Balance' is one thing that wasn't going through my mind when I was shooting this.
Today is a bit hazy, but maybe this will produce a nice sunset this evening. I'll get back out there and reshoot if I can.
