Default Youghal Beach, Ireland

Took a trip to the beach this weekend to catch the sunrise. Ended up locking my keys in the car too.

Should I have excluded the rocky section in the bottom left and does the color seem a bit strange where the sun is about to rise over the headland?

Pretty, and I especially like the comp and subtle colors in the 2nd one.

But, did you mean to post these in critique?

Thanks Chip,

Sorry, I've edited the post. It's been a while since I posted anything and forgot the rules (RTFM).
Yes I'm looking for critique on the image.

To my eyes, the rocky portion appears to be distracting that it draws my attention to it more than the beautiful sunrise do. Nice soft tones btw.

Cheers!

Thanks for the advice Eric and Aleix. I think I'll take another go at it and try for that composition in camera.
I like that overlay, never thought of using them.

Nice sunrise. Go ahead and take another shot aligning it up with Aleix's overlay. Too bad about the keys

I guess I'm in the minority, but I think the rocks in the foreground are a plus. They give the photo depth, and add a diagonal that - to me - makes the photo more interesting.
