Default Sangre de Cristo Mountains

Sangre de Cristo Mountains

Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi
Shutter 1/40
Aperture: 11
Aperture priority
Focal Length: 55mm
ISO 800

Any help with exposure and composition would be appreciated. This shot was taken as I was attempting my first sunrise photos when I turned around to find a bright red reflection on the mountaintops of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range near westclif CO. needless to say the photo does not reflect what I thought it would look like.

Use the rule of thirds as a baseline for your images. An imaginary tic tac toe grid, with the main components of your image falling on those lines.
I'm very familiar with these mountains and can agree they are very beautiful. Forgive me but this lacks POP. It doesnt grab you and say "LOOK AT ME"
Take into consideration, the time of day so you dont have everything covered in shadows. Makes for a very dark foreground. You may also want to consider waiting for a cloudy day so you'll have clouds in the sky to give the sky some character
