I would say to make it more interesting approach it from a different angle to give it some context, as it is I have no idea what I'm looking at (apart from the obvious, but where is it? Does it have a function?). Also get closer to fill the frame.

I would have thought to find this in the critique section for "Other". It doesn't seem to fit landscape/cityscape. That could be why you aren't getting much response.

As you have already said, I think you kept it "too" simple. You should be able to still keep it simple but with some context. Even as junglebear stated, a closer crop/filling the frame would possibly give this subject interest in it's texture and construction detail.

Maybe it would look a little more dynamic if you shot the lit side rather than the shaded side.

The first ideas that came to my mind were 1) Get light on it, either sun or artificial, and 2) have someone bending over in front of it so it looks like it's about to peck them on the rear.

Hello,

It's my first post in this forum, and I thought I'd just give my opinion. Like others said it feels a bit empty, perhaps balancing a bit with some other element on the other side could fix that, or at least cropping it a bit tighter. I find the rooster is a bit too dark as well, because the shaded side is seen on the pic (if you use Lightroom you could try some "fill light" slider, this would compensate the missing flash).

Greetings

Your coworker said it. I didn't.
