Default The fifth aka flooding season in Estonia

This is my second post in this forum and my first one in the critique section: i'm an amateur photographer (just learning) and this was my first attempt at trying to capture the landscape. I tend to stick to the rule of thirds by positioning the central object either to the left or to the right side as seen here. Any suggestion how to alternate my angle?

nothing wrong with the positioning.. Following the rules of third is good. But from your statement, this tells me that the subject here is that tree on the right.. which is not so interesting to see.. therefore, the rules of thirds is kind of void if used here.. choosing an interesting foreground subject.. let's say a boat, an abandoned shack, a big bulging rock, a patch of colourful flowers, and abandoned vehicle, or a floating debris, or anything that can tell that its flooding here for example.. and following the rules of third, placing it at one third of the frame might improve the image substantially. Just my 2 cents. ;

I hope i'm not being too hard here.. But anyway that answers the composition question..

For the mood and feel here i like it.. I like the atmosphere and the color tones too.. lonely and cold misty feel, as if being abandoned.

Do you have your exif information you could share? Sometimes knowing your camera settings can play a HUGE part in offering you a good critique. And its asked for in the guidelines
