Default Critique and Advice wanted

Hi all,
Recently did a trip to Rome, spent 3 days, took 400 pics and got this one to show for it. Unfortunately, the refraction of the bright sun onto the lens has caused a bright spot in the bottom left of middle. Any ideas on getting rid of this spot? or should I just leave it there?

As well, I have done some post processing, taken out the hanging street lights and wires etc, but only for aesthetics purposes, I hate the distractions they cause!

Anything else you think, let me know...

Cheers,
Brent

Here is an edit for you to think about:
I cropped vertically to cut out the empty sky and the sidewalk(?) in the lower-right corner. You cannot do anything to being back the blown-out sky. If you happen to have some stock sky shots, you could try to add a new sky to the image.

I upped the contrast - image seemed a muddy-gray to me - and removed some blue color cast from the concrete structure in shadow. I also warmed the image a bit to give a more sunny feeling to go with the lens flair.

Hope it helps.

Hello,

That lens flare could be difficult to remove. You can try making it less obvious by using clone and heal tools to remove the brightest spot, and perhaps using the PS "burn" tool to darken the surroundings, so those brighter trees blend in with the rest as much as possible.

Regards
