Ice Castle

Just looking for some suggestions on how I could have made this better...Would you have tried a different angle? I like the picture, but it doesn't "pop" for me. Maybe some of the elements are there but not in the right places?

I like this. You handle the exposure really well. The only compositional element I don't like is the flag post and red flag. My eye goes straight to it. I don't think it adds to the story of the picture but I guess the builders of the castle wanted a pinnacle and so wouldn't be impressed if you asked them to take it down.

wouldn't mind the red flag.. it does lead the eye to it but then it is what youre trying to show here right.?? The ice castle.. Nice on the exposure considering the light on the background.

The flag is nice, I would definitely keep that.

You shot the shadow side of the scene, by shooting into the sun. You'll get more "life" in your photo if you shoot the lighter side of the building and the people, perhaps at a 90 degree angle with the sun.
