Default 4x4 in Iceland

I've just returned from a trip to Iceland. It's the first time I've properly picked up a camera. I picked up so much over the week and I've got some goods photo's out of it! This is one of the photo's I'd shot earlier in the week and wanted some feedback.

Just to give the background, it's shot in a location not far from the recent erruption, and the main reason we stopped off there was to get some photos of the erruption. I've been off roading in the past and love it, so this caught my attention!

I'm open to any feedback. My main concern with the image was whether I could touch it up at all to take acount for its lack of clarity. On the day it was very windy and as such there was a lot of sand flying around in the background in front of those cliffs.

Camera: Canon 450D
Exposure: 1/200
Aperture: f/10
Focal Length: 55 mm
ISO Speed: 100

Overall, I think it's a pretty cool image. I think with a little editing this could be a really nice photo. I didn't see anything saying you were opposed to others editing your images, so I grabbed it and took a sloppily aimed shot. I didn't feel the sky added much to the image, so that got cropped. I just applied an unsharp mask to the lower half of the image and a levels adjustment to the mountains. To try to get rid of that haze you referred to. If it bothers you, just let me know and I'll remove it.

I for one like the editing, or cropping to be more specific. With the cropping my eyes are not wondering all over the picture. It seems more balanced.
Fun Times....

By using a little dodge and burn, you can bring th vehicle out more. As it it, it gets lost in the landscape. Then if you get really adventursome, darw a circle around the headlights. on a seperate layer (Promote selction to layer) Fillt he circles with white, remove the circles, do a gaussion blur at about 70 and then adjust the opacity level. You'll find you now have glowing headlights!
