Default Dubai night

Hi to everyone!
This would be my first post.
And I want it to put on this topic.. critique.
Can't provide for the EXIF. I'm a beginner in photography so hope you give more critique with this shot.

My question did i make a good composition with this photo?
did I overexposed or underexposed this beautiful scene?

Thanks in advance ... BTW this community really helps me a lot by learning photography.

The boxes in the foreground are a little distracting. More importantly, the buildings look a bit out of focus. Not a horrible composition though.

Hmm.....nice photo overall but the orange boxes in the foreground are a bit distracting.
And if i would've taken this shot i would have cropped out the right side because the lights are overexposed and are diverting attention.

I agree on the boxes.. and thats where the focus is put, which unfortunatley isnt where you want the eyes to go...

i do like the shot with the moon, but a little overexposed.. and that might be due to the lights...

thanks for sharing and keep shootin!

Don't knock yourself. I'm learning a lot myself. You can't learn unless you shoot photos. The photo isn't bad, just needs to be a little more in focus for the buildings (for me). However, the photo is for YOU so you need to be comfortable with it. I rather like the idea overall. I love night shots of skylines...

I agree with the comments above that the orange crates in the foreground draw so much attention and look very distracting. You may also consider cropping a bit of the sky.

Cheers!

Just want to add in a bit that i noticed that no one else has said...

when taking pics of landscape, it might be better to use aperture priority...i dont know why you use shutter priority of 10 seconds when nothing in your photo says movement...it might be better to choose aperture priority of f16 or something (something that makes your buildings sharp since that's one of the problem)..

as for landscapes or citiscapes, might try to shoot a little earlier time...just after sunset time when the sky is blue, it'll give a better colour in the sky (but your moon may not be where it is, so it might not work in this case)

while you are at it, since you are on a tripod (dont think anyone can handhold 10 seconds), might as well switch to manual and play around with the settings dont you think? then u can set your iso to base iso instead of 320, play your aperture, and suit shutter speed to expose properly..

note: am a beginner myself..so take the advice if it makes sense to you...
